2017 Softball Banquet - Must RSVP and Pay in ADVANCE
Mark your calendars for Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 6:00 PM in the Little Theater for the annual end of season Banquet (dinner and program will run until 8 or 8:30) There will be a charge of $5 for Players, and $11 per additional guest for the Italian dinner, and payment must be made in advance. All payments must be made by Friday, October 27th at NOON. Money will NOT be accepted at the door, so plan in advance if you will be attending.

8/22/17 - The Lady Norse Varsity played their first Non-Conference game today at Horizon High School. Tori Quintana recorded the Win for the Norse, after giving up only 1 Run in 4 innings as the starter in the circle. Milli Lucero got the Save by holding the Hawks to 3 Runs in her 3 innings of relieve pitching. Milli was named the Player of the Game for a great all around game on both Offense and Defense. This was a complete team effort with the team batting .333 in the 8-4 Victory. The Norse played inspired defense making highlight play after highlight play in the field. Every player on the team contributed with something spectacular in the game. The Norse jumped up early, putting up 4 runs in the top of the first inning, and held the lead the rest of the way. The Norse had not beaten Horizon in several years, so this was a very good win.
8/30/17 - The Varsity Team worked at Fuzzy's Tacos tonight selling Brownie-Ice Cream Sundaes. The ladies earned enough to pay for their new uniform pants, so the night was a big success. Thanks to everyone who came out to support us.
9/1/18 - The Lady Norse improved to 4-0 on the season after going 3-0 on Day 1 of the Don McCall tournament hosted by Douglas County HS at Metzler Fields in Castle Rock. This was a huge improvement after going winless on the first day at this tournament in 2016. The Norse came out strong Offensively, scoring 12, 16, and 12 runs in the 3 games, while playing solid Defense and limiting their opponents scoring. The Lady Norse Offense was so strong that they scored runs in 13 of 15 Innings played on Day 1! Ponderosa - The Lady Norse jumped to a lead in the top of the first against the Mustangs and never looked back. Tori Quintana pitched a great game, going 5 innings and only giving up 2 runs. At the plate, she was 3/4 with 2 runs, and 2 RBI. Milli Lucero was 2/3, plus 1 BB, with 2 RBI, and 1 run. Jaide Bucher was selected at the Player of the Game after going 3/3 at the plate, plus 1 BB, and 1 RBI. Fruita-Monument - Once again, the Lady Norse jumped up early when Analiese Rodriguez started the scoring with a single in the top of the first. The Norse would score in every inning of this game. Sidney Wilson went 3/4 with 2 RBI, and 1 run. Rodriguez was 2/3 with 2 RBI, and 1 run. But this one was a showcase for Milli Lucero, who was selected as the Player of the Game for her performance. Milli was 4/4 with 6 RBI, and 4 runs scored. One of those hits was a grand slam on her first HR of the season. She also earned the win from the circle, pitching 4 innings, while giving up 3 runs on 4 hits. Lamar - In this one, the Lady Norse put 3 quick runs up in the top of the first and controlled the Savages the rest of the way. Tori Quintana got the win after going 4 innings while giving up 6 runs. Freshman, Kailey Huggins got her first Varsity action in the circle, throwing 1 inning to close the game. Analiese Rodriguez went 2/3 with 2 RBI. Callissa Lucero was 2/4 with RBI. Sidney Wilson was selected as the Player of the Game after going 2/3 with 4 RBIs, and 2 runs, plus 1 SAC. Castle View - On Saturday, the Lady Norse lost their first game of the day in a back and forth battle. Tori Quintana started the game in the circle and went 5 innings, surrendering 3 runs, 4 hits, and striking out 3. For her strong performance, Tori was selected as the Player of the Game for the Norse. This was a tight game throughout, with both team's Pitchers limiting the chances of the other teams. Analiese Rodriguez was 1/3 at the plate, driving in 1 RBI. Izzy Haynes made an outstanding play in left field, stealing a grand slam from the Saber Cats. She maintained control of the ball as she flipped over the LF fence to make the play. Douglas County - After going 3-1 in pool play, the Lady Norse were matched up against Douglas County HS in the game to determine 3rd Place in the Don McCall Tournament. The Norse jumped out to an early 2-1 lead after the first inning. DC would respond and lead 5-3 after 6 innings. Milli Lucero, Tori Quintana, and Sidney Wilson each singled in the Top of the 7th, and after Lucero was caught advancing to 3rd, the Norse had cut the lead to 5-4. With 2 out in the Top of the 7th, Analiese Rodriguez drove a deep shot to left center field, for a 2 Run Home Run to save the day for the Norse. The Defense held DC scoreless in the bottom of the seventh, and the Norse secured 3rd Place in the tournament.
9/5/17 - The Lady Norse traveled to Hinkley HS and came away with a 20-0 win in 4 innings. Kaylie Huggins came in to relieve in the Top of the Second and threw 3 shutout innings, with 6 K's, 1 BB, 1 H, and 0 Earned Runs.. She was 2/3 at plate, plus 1 BB, 1 RBI, and scored 3 runs. For the performance, she was chosen the Player of the Game in her first substantial appearance on the mound for the Norse.. The Norse jumped out to a 10-0 lead in the first inning, and put it on cruise control in route to the 20-0 win. Tori Quintana was 3/3 at plate, 1 HBP, 5 RBI, and scored 3 runs. Jaide Bucher also had 2 hits vs. the Thunderbirds, and every player on the Norse roster saw playing time.
9/7/17 - the Lady Norse dropped their home opener to the Prairie View Thunderhawks by a score of 13-3. The Norse fell behind by 4 runs in the top of the first and were never able to catch back up. Prairie View silenced the bats of the Norse, allowing just 4 hits in the game. Analiese Rodriguez delivered the biggest highlight for the Norse with a huge solo HR to Left Field. Tori Quintana was charged with the loss after giving up 6 runs in 1 2/3 innings.
9/8/17 - The Lady Norse bounced back on Friday, and won their opening game of the Mile High Tournament at TJ, versus Grand Junction. GJ jumped out early in the first, with 3 quick runs. However, the Norse responded in a big way with 7 runs of their own in the bottom half of the first. They never looked back, cruising to an 18-8 victory. Kaylie Huggins was 3/3 at the plate, with 2 RBIs, and 2 Runs. Tori Quintana was 3/4, with 3 RBIs, and 3 Runs. Milli Lucero was 4/4, with 4 RBIs, and 4 Runs and was selected as the player of the game.
9/9/17 - On Saturday, the Lady Norse faced tournament host TJ. The Norse stuck to their game plan and limited the top of TJ's batting to minimal damage early in the game. The game was tied after 3 innings when the Norse rallied for 3 runs due to single by Callissa Lucero and Tori Quintana. The Norse out hit TJ 12/8 for the game. Still tied at 3-3 going into the 7th, TJ came up with 4 runs after some unfortunate calls. The Norse did respond in the bottom of the 7th, but could only come up with 2 runs, resulting in a 5-7 loss. Callissa Lucero was the player of the game after a 3 for 4 day at the plate, plus reaching on an E, with 4 RBIs.
9/10/17 - The Lady Norse played George Washington in the 3rd Place Game of the Mile High Invitational Tournament. The Norse took a 1 run lead in the first inning after Sidney Wilson doubled to push in a run. The Norse then could not score again for several innings, leaving multiple batters stranded on base (7 total for the game). In the fourth inning, the Norse finally broke through for 5 runs, thanks to Doubles by Analiese Rodriguez and Leticia Delgado. Viviana Caldera added a single to score a run. Tori Quintana had traffic on the bases all day long, but earned the shutout in the 5 inning game. Tori was selected as the player of the game for her performance in the circle.
9/12/17 - The Lady Norse knocked off rival Thornton High School by a score of 14-1. The outcome of this one was set early, as the Norse jumped on top with 9 runs in the bottom of the first. They would continue to add to their lead with 5 more runs in the 3rd, tallying 13 Hits and 0 Errors in the game! Milli Lucero earned the win for the Norse. Izzy Haynes was selected as the Player of the Game for the Norse after going 2/2, with 2 Runs, and 1 RBI. Analiese Rodriguez was 3/3 with a HR, and Tori Quintana, Milli Lucero also delivering multiple hit performances.
9/16/17 - The Norse were too much for Rangeview today, beating the Rangers 16-0. Milli Lucero allowed just 2 hits in the shutout win. The Norse rang up 13 hits, with Izzy Haynes, Milli Lucero, Tori Quintana, and Kaylie Huggins all delivering multiple hits on the day. The Norse were solid on Defense, and did not commit an error in the game. Sidney Wilson was named the player of the game after going 1/3 at the plate, but her hit was a solo HR in the top of the first to help get the Norse scoring.
9/19/17 - The Lady Norse took care of business and handled the Westminster Wolves by a score of 11-1 at Norse Field. This was another great team win for the Norse. They got offense from their full lineup (11 hits), a nice effort on the mound by Milli Lucero, and a very clean defensive effort. As has become a trademark of this team, they jumped up early with 3 runs in the bottom of 1, then added runs in every inning except the third. Milli, Tori Quintana, and Izzy Haynes all delivered multiple hits performances in the game. Tori Quintana was selected player of the game for going 2/3 plus a BB, driving in 2 RBI, and scoring 3 Runs. She also made a great diving catch which prevented multiple runs from scoring. The Win took the Nore season record to 11-3.
9/21/17 - The Lady Norse pushed their season record to 12-3 after a 9-0 win at Vista Peak Preparatory School. This one saw stellar Error Free Defense by the Norse. Callissa Lucero made 4 really nice plays on ground balls at 3B in the game, and was selected as the player of the game for the D and a nice Single on the Offensive side of the ball. Tori Quintana pitched a gem, throwing a shutout - 2 hit game, striking out 5. Milli, Tori, and Sidney all collected a multiple hit day. Milli was 4/5 with 4 singles.
9/26/17 - The #11 Lady Norse traveled to #2 Brighton for a league showdown. The Norse played one of their most complete games of the season, but came up just short. There was great pitching and defense from both teams early on, and the game was still tied at 0-0 entering the bottom of the 6th inning. Brighton then strung together a double and a 2 run home run, which sealed the game for the Bulldogs. For the game, the Norse outhit Brighton 6-4, with Analiese Rodriguez delivering 2 Hits, and Leticia Delgado, Viviana Caldera, Tori Quintana, and Milli Lucero each getting a Hit. Tori threw 2 shutout innings in the middle of the game. Milli started on the mound, and held them scoreless in the first three innings. She re-entered in the 6th and surrendered two runs. Viviana was selected as the player of the game for several great defensive plays at 1st Base, her base hit bunt, and an additional SAC Bunt.
9/28/17 - The #9 Lady Norse visited Adams City on Senior Day at ACH. The Norse broke through with 3 runs in the top of the first. The bats then went a little quiet until the fifth, when they broke through with 6 runs, then added 3 more in the sixth. Tori Quintana earned the win on the mound, with 3 shutout innings. Milli Lucero relieved for 3 shutout innings. Analiese Rodriguez, Callissa Lucero, Milli Lucero, and Sidney Wilson all delivered multiple hit performances. Sidney was selected as the player of the game after nearly hitting for the cycle. She hit 2 Singles, a Triple, and an in-the-park HR. Sid also had 2 RBIs and scored 2 Runs.
10/3/17 - On Senior Day at NHS against Aurora Central, the Lady Norse honored Mariah Chavez, Jaide Bucher, Milli Lucero, and Tori Quintana for their years of dedication to Norse Softball. Tori got the start in the circle and threw a No Hitter, striking out 6 of the 9 batters needed to complete the win. Jaide started at Catcher, Mariah in Right Field, and Milli in Center Field. The Norse scored 12 runs in the first, 5 in the second, and 3 in the third to earn a 20-0 win. All but 2 Norse hitters had a hit, with most delivering multiple hits. Jaide was selected as the player of the game for a 2/2 night at the plate with 2 singles, and a walk. She scored 3 runs in the game.
10/6/17 - In the EMAC Match Up game, the Norse faced Westminster. This one was closer than would have been expected. The Norse came from behind to win 3-2 in 8 innings. Tori Quintana threw the full game, surrendering 8 hits, and 0 Earned Runs, with 5 Strike Outs. Callisa Lucero and Tori each had 2 hits in the game. Viviana Caldera was selected as the player of the game after delivering a big hit in the bottom of the 7th inning which allowed the Norse to tie the game in regulation and give them the chance to put it away in the bottom of the 8th.
10/9/17 - The Lady Norse learned today that they will be returning to the 5A Regional Tournament for the first time since 2015. Their 15-4 regular season record is the best in recent years, and earned them a final ranking of 11th in the RPI system. They begin the Regional Tournament on Saturday, October 7th against #22 Rocky Mountain at Triple Crown Sports Complex in Ft Collins. The other two teams in their Regional pool are #5 Fossil Ridge and #27 Grand Junction.
Second Annual Homecoming-Home Run Derby a SMASH!!
Homecoming Week kicked off on Monday with the 2nd Annual Dinger Derby held at the Lady Norse Softball Field. This event has become a fun event for the softball players working the event, as well as those participating and swinging for the fences.
At the event, participants received 10 swings to see how many Home Runs they could hit. There were a number of towering shots that went up the hill and well into the soccer practice field.
We really appreciate the support of the Norse Baseball players who come out every year and support our program.
This year attendees competed in six categories. Prizes were awarded to the 1st and 2nd Place winners in a JR (under high school age), Youth (high school ages), and Adult category - with both Male and Female winners. All participants received some sort of gift card to a local restaurant.

Field Pride Day
Saturday, August 12th was the 7th Annual Field Pride Day at Norse Softball Field. Forty Players, Parents, and Lady Norse Supporters joined together to spruce up the Softball Field and Norse Park. Special thanks goes out to ACE Hardware on 104th and Federal and Lowe's in the Northglenn Marketplace for donating paint and painting supplies. This allowed us to repaint all of the dugouts and sheds at the field. Other work included painting the backstop, edging the infield/outfield border, mowing the grass, cleaning under the bleachers, hanging the windscreen, hanging our banners, cleaning under the bleachers and around the park, and cleaning out the dugouts.
Great Job Ladies! The field is ready for the season and looks Awesome!!
We can take pride in the work we completed and in knowing our home field is a place to be proud of.

Spirit Gear arrived on 9/15, and is being distributed to the players. If you have not yet received what you ordered, please check with your coach.
The Lady Norse are signed up to clean up 5 Star Stadium following the Northglenn/Mountain Range football game on Friday, October 13th. Come out and support the Norse Football team, then stay for the clean up after the game. Games generally run from 7-9 PM, so expect to be done cleaning up by 9:30 or 9:45.
NORSE Varsity place 3rd at the TJ Mile High Invitational
The Lady NORSE finished in 3rd Place this year at the Mile High Invitational Tournament at Thomas Jefferson High School. The Norse kicked off the tournament with an 18-8 win over Grand Junction. They then drew host TJ, and while they fought hard, and were in a tied game going into the 7th inning, they ended up losing 5-7. They then won the 3rd Place game against George Washington by a score of 7-0.
Norse Varsity place 3rd at Don McCall Tournament
The Lady Norse finished in 3rd Place at the Don McCall Tournament hosted by Douglas County High School in Castle Rock. The Norse won their opener of the tournament against Ponderosa 12-2. They then took car of Fruita Monument by a score of 16-3, followed by a 12-8 win over Lamar. They then lost a close one to Castle View 4-5. In the 3rd Place Game, they came from behind in the 7th inning to defeat host Douglas County 5-4. It was an impressive two days, with the Norse scoring 49 total runs!
