May 11, 2017 - Off Season Workouts Beginning TOMORROW
Sorry that we were not able to get started last week.
Weather Permitting, Off Season Optional Workouts and Conditioning will now begin on Friday, May 12th at 4 PM at the Norse Softball Field (100th and Huron Street). While these events are optional, the coaches strongly encourage them to help the players develop their skills and prepare them for Tryouts in mid-August. Workouts on the field will be held on most Fridays through the middle of July. Coach Molly will let the players know of any OFF weeks once we get started.
For the Friday Workouts, please wear appropriate clothes for practice, including sweat pants, or softball pants, cleats/tennis shoes, and a short sleeve t-shirt (no spaghetti straps). Of course, bring water, and if you have them you should bring your glove and bat.
Coach Molly is also working on setting up a summer Conditioning program to allow the ladies to workout together and come into the season in the best shape possible. More details will be provided as this is finalized.
Our Team Captains from last year are already beginning to send regular communications out to the players via email. If you would like to be added to the distribution list, please let Coach Molly know at: Molly.Huffman@adams12.org.
REMINDER: You must have an athletic physical in order to participate in tryouts for high school athletics (tryouts are mid-August for softball). Appropriate documentation for the physical can be picked up in the NHS office during normal school hours. This year, FREE Physicals are being offered in the Thornton High School Training Room on Saturday, May 20th from 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM.

After posting wins over Kennedy (6-0) and Monarch (9-4) in the first two rounds, the Norse had one tough inning in the Championship Game and ended up losing to host Thomas Jefferson 1-11.
